Level two here we come!

Good job team, especially those in the Construction sector in Canterbury. The move to Level 2 is another victory for the strategy to eliminate Covid-19 from New Zealand, and particularly for those who returned to work earlier and led the way in doing what was required to stop  the second wave.

The Charter has been visiting a number of sites over the last week and looking at how our members are implementing the protocols and facing the challenges of the Covid-19 environment.  These four video’s can be viewed by clicking on the links below.

There are some great ideas and insights to be found here, and it has always been a strength of the Charter that we can share your stories and experiences for the greater good.

At level two, we will see some relaxation of the distancing rules, but the four pillars of the protocols still remain. As long as you have these 4 bases covered, you are definitely doing the right thing.
1. Hygiene
2. Distancing
3. Contract tracing
4. PPE (if required)

In the long term, some of these might stick around for some time, and become a “new normal”. The virus still exists out in the world, and we are still a part of it.  However, in the meantime lets celebrate the success we have had, and look forward to all this work showcasing the ability of New Zealand to lead the world in our response.

The NZ Covid-19 Construction Protocols for work at Level 2 provide a ‘how to’ guide which sits below the Covid-19 Standard for NZ Construction Operations (which remain unchanged), the protocols are living documents which will be updated by the industry sector working party as required.
