About Us

Paul is Canterbury born and bred, although with a couple of stints working in the USA and Canada. He started his professional life as a Physics teacher, before transitioning to a position in Sports administration with Canterbury Basketball. As a PCBU he was responsible for developing and implementing the Health and Safety Policies and procedures for Canterbury Basketball, as well as delivering the strategic and annual plans for the sport. During his tenure, the sport grew exponentially, with increased player numbers, staff, and revenue. Several new initiatives were introduced which markedly raised the profile of the sport and the value received by the members. Paul started with the Charter in November 2019, and saw the opportunity to assist in the implementation of a new strategy direction for the Charter, and creation of a better defined values proposition for the members. In his spare time Paul enjoys playing the guitar, cycling, and watching most sport.
