It was great to see so many of you at the Annual General Meeting on 18 July – our first as an Incorporated Society. We successfully elected the three remaining members of the Board: Ian Campbell, McConnell Dowell, Ron Angel, E tū and Richard Holyoake, Beca. For a full list of current Board members, please see here.
Draft minutes of the Annual General Meeting are available for download here.
The AGM was followed by our Charter event where we were delighted to host our keynote speaker for the evening – the Hon Iain Lees-Galloway, Minister of Workplace Relations and Safety. The Minister talked about the Charter being a great model of good health and safety practice – where industry members (who are often compete against each other) work together, with government and unions, and genuinely involve workers at all levels to create healthy and safe workplaces. The Minister also took us through his priorities and strategic goals for the health and safety system.
We also introduced the pilot of the new Charter “Lite” Assessment tool which has been developed for SME’s as a quicker and easier way of identifying the areas they can focus on to improve their health and safety performance. Paul Gimblett, Head of Safety at ACC, took us through some of their new initiatives, and we welcomed new Charter signatories and celebrated three Charter Champions.
Thanks again to ACC for sponsoring the event.
