We have been busy preparing for our exciting ‘Future of Health Safety Conference’ and would love to see you there!
BIMSafe NZ are proudly supporting this event hosted by the Canterbury Safety Charter at the Christchurch Town Hall on July 25, 2024.
The key focuses of the conference will be wellbeing, technology, and innovation. As you all know the health and safety landscape in New Zealand is navigating a time of exceptional change.
There is a lot to update the industry on and our experts will have the very latest learnings. The conference will be THE place to be for an in-deep look at progress in health and safety and to hear what we can expect in the future.
Our keynote speaker is a familiar face to most New Zealanders – Groove founder, All Blacks legend and global mental health advocate Sir John Kirwan – will provide insights and practical solutions on how to manage mental health. Psychological safety in the workplace is emerging as a key priority. Even before the pandemic, work-related stress, anxiety, depression and burnout were on the rise in New Zealand and globally. The collective trauma and isolation of COVID-19 only increased these challenges.
WorkSafe Deputy CEO Kane Patena will discuss the future direction and focus of WorkSafe, including their latest strategy document.
Chapman Tripp partner Garth Gallaway will lead the discussion on decisions and the implications for the future following Whakaari/White Island decision, along with presenting the case against Ports of Auckland former CEO Tony Gibson, and the use of the proceeds of crime provisions for health and safety prosecutions.
There will be key learnings from the successes of the BIMSafe Project. Naylor Love’s Health and Safety Advisor Jen Dransfield will talk about promising tech for health and safety advisors, and her colleague Mariana Richtman will share the benefits of using BIM on the ACC/Otepoti Building, Dunedin.
Preformance’s Jonathan Dutton will talk about how BIM Powered Robotics have enhanced safety in Construction.
Brett Murray from SiteSafe, will talk on Innovations in health and safety training.
Richard Wagstaff, NZCTU President will talk on future directions from a union/workers perspective.
Dr Kathryn Davies from University of Canterbury will discuss the “Cultural Shifts: Enhancing health and safety through technology.”
The event will be MCed by inspiring Transformation Coach Kristina Wischnowsky, with yet another highlight the unveiling by our BIMSafe team of our important new web portal.
