BIMSafe NZ Update March/April 2023

Welcome to the latest update from BIMSafe NZ.

Our team has been busy collating the results from our survey with the outtakes summarised below.

We are also pleased to launch our new BIMSafe NZ in Design video along with two new reports assessing the use of BIM (Building Information Modelling) for Health and Safety (H&S) in design and construction. These papers inform both the industry and the writers of the H&S Guidelines of the latest international and national research and best practices in this area.

Work has begun on our case study site in Dunedin, and we hope to start trialling some initiatives in the upcoming months.

Last week BIMSafe took part in the NZIOB’s DigiCom conference in Wellington, which focused on building the digital community within the construction Industry. BIMsafe NZ participated in the Conversation Pit where we were able to share our story with the conference delegates.

First BIMSafe NZ Survey Completed

Our first survey results are in and we have summarised the findings…

To guide the direction and measure the impact of the BIMSafe project, BIMSafe NZ conducted a nationwide survey in 2022. Read the findings from the survey here.

BIMSafe NZ in Design Video

We are proud to launch the first of a series of six resource videos that will summarise what the potential for BIM in health and safety is and how it can be used.

This first video looks at the design stages of the BIMSafe NZ case study, Otepoti ACC building in Dunedin, and how the use of a BIM model can influence health and safety outcomes throughout the lifecycle of the building.

Just released: BIM for Health and Safety

We are pleased to announce the release of two new reports assessing the use of BIM (Building Information Modelling) for Health and Safety (H&S).

The reports focus on the Design and Construction phases in a project and provide a survey of the international research in these areas which could be applied to the NZ market. Read more here.

NZ Institute of Building DigiCom 2023 Conference, March 23

BIMSafe NZ attended the NZ Institute of Building DigiCom 2023 Conference in Wellington last week.

The conference was focused on building New Zealand’s Digital community, and a diverse range of speakers were featured.

The BIMsafe Advisory Group was well represented on the ground, with Brad Sara, Kevin Hughes, Kathryn Davies, Robert Amor, Pete Lockhart, Chloe Williams, Blair Collie, and Greg Preston all attending….Continue reading here.
