Three new Charter Champions awarded

The Hon Iain Lees-Galloway, Minister of Workplace Relations and Safety presented our latest Charter Champion awards at the July member event. These awards celebrate members who display excellence in any of the then Charter commitments and actions, who show great health and safety leadership and who live the Charter values.

Receiving the Charter Champion awards in July were:

Tim Anthon – Development Manager, Development Christchurch Limited (DCL)  

Tim was the Development Manager for the New Brighton Playground. Tim took the principles of the Canterbury Safety Charter to lead safety and developed a site-specific safely plan to ensure workers were aware of their responsibility. His focus was on ensuring the well-being of the workforce was at the forefront of their thinking.

Tania Crates – Operations Manager, Maiden Group

Tania Crates of Maiden Group

Tania was awarded Charter Champion for recognition of her support in demonstrating leadership, best-practice and creating a positive safety culture for Maiden Group.

Geoff Williams – Waterways Manager, CityCare

Geoff Williams of CityCare

Geoff was nominated for celebrating 13 years of no serious injuries to his staff by leading a positive safety culture by reporting and mitigating critical risks in the workplace. Geoff empowers his leadership team through training and mentoring.
