The Canterbury Safety Charter Health and Safety Leaders Group held a mental and physical wellbeing workshop on Wednesday 17th of February.
Slade and Berhampore from Mates in Construction took us through a mental health toolbox, with the key message being that it is OK to not feel OK, but it is not OK to not talk about it. We all can help ourselves and each other by learning to communicate and share our feelings, and to recognise the signs to look for when others are not doing OK.
Chris from CHASNZ took us through the concerning statistics of the effects of Musculo skeletal disorders in the construction workforce, and the programs he is putting in place to raise awareness and improve health outcomes of those most affected.
