Our first Charter event of the year is a breakfast event focussed on mental wellness. Our keynote speaker for the event is Lance Burdett: Consultant & Coach, WARN International – Wellness, Awareness, Resilience & Negotiation With 22 years of policing experience, 13 of those as a crisis negotiator, Lance has developed a unique programme that combines advanced communication techniques, safety practices and personal resilience tips for everyday use to keep ourselves safe and well. Lance brings together experience from training internationally and operating with the elite sectors. The programme of applied techniques is grounded in science, industry tested, and continuously reviewed to maintain relevancy. He recently published the bestselling book, “Behind The Tape”, and makes regular media appearances. Providing a local flavour, we will also hear from Donald Pettitt, Chief Executive Officer, Canterbury Men’s Centre (CMC) Donald is a social worker with experience working in a range of community groups, as well as a background in child protection services. His training includes a Masters Degree in Applied Social Work from Massey University as well as a Bachelors of Applied Science (Mechanical Engineering). The mission of the CMC is Happy Healthy Canterbury Men and their services are aimed at reaching those that don’t normally get this type of support.
